The majority of this year’s acts have already confirmed that they want to be part of next year’s event on the 24th-25th July 2021– including Kool & The Gang, Shaggy, Tony Hadley, Belinda Carlisle, Shalamar, SNAP!, The Brand New Heavies, Bad Manners and The Blow Monkeys.

Organiser, Ian Rogers (pictured), described the situation as “unprecedented” and said the team had been working tirelessly in the past few weeks to move the festival to September. However, it soon became apparent that even if this were legally possible, many people would be understandably nervous about a large gathering at this time.

“This pandemic is affecting all of our families, our businesses, our communities and our way of life. Our hearts go out to anyone who’s been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly.

Ultimately, the health & safety of our customers, staff and artists is paramount and has to be the number one priority right now,” he said.

All 2020 tickets have automatically transferred to 2021 with immediate effect. Anyone who has purchased tickets to date will receive a complimentary drink voucher to use at the rescheduled event.

“We hope this gesture goes some way to show our appreciation for how amazing and supportive everyone has been, not just during this difficult time, but throughout our five years of building Solihull Summer Fest.” said Ian.

“A refund option will also be available – an email to all ticket holders will be going out on Friday 22nd May 2020. We do urge you where possible to carry your ticket forward to 2021 and support this independently-run event.”

Meanwhile, the Solihull Summer Fest team and volunteers having been working hard during the lockdown period to support the work of Age UK Solihull, in helping the elderly and vulnerable who are having to self-isolate. They have provided more than 500 deliveries to the elderly in the borough and met requests for essentials, prescription deliveries, dog-walking and often just a caring ear for a chat.
