Students arrange charity flower event

St Basils to benefit from novel fundraiser.

M.A.K.E.S. Events is a ‘bunch’ of students hosting a Flower Arranging Charity Event in support of St Basils homeless charity, on 28th of March, at Boston Tea Party in Edgbaston. If you love flowers and tea, this is the ‘blooming’ right event for you!

This event will include a afternoon tea spread, high-end raffle prizes, and of course flower arranging. You will be able to learn from a professional on how to create a bunch of beautiful looking flowers that you can either take home, gift to someone special or gift to someone homeless. Our flower event will run from 3:30 pm to 6 pm with tickets costing £35.

Barrie Hodge, head of fundraising and communications at St Basils, said, “We are so grateful to the wonderful team at M.A.K.E.S. events for putting on this fabulous event to raise money for our cause. The money will have such an impact on the lives of young people in the West Midlands. On behalf of everyone we support, thank you.”

M.A.K.E.S. Events is a group of six Fashion Business and Promotion students from Birmingham City University that are currently working on an Events Management module and have not been provided with any external funding for the event, therefore, have fundraised from zero. The purpose of this event is to raise money for St Basils Homeless Charity and to make a difference in someone’s life, whether it’s a bunch of flowers or donations it will make a big difference.

St Basils is a youth homelessness charity that works with young people aged 16 to 25 who have no permanent fixed address or at risk of becoming homeless. They currently help 5,000 young people each year across the West Midlands by supporting them with accommodation, employment, skills and to help regain their confidence to break the cycle of homelessness so that each individual can then go on to living a bright future.
