Midlands brewery celebrates first year with birthday brew.

Redditch microbrewery, Lab Culture, is celebrating their first successful year of trading with the launch of a new limited-edition birthday beer.

The beer, titled, Birthday Cake IPA, will consist of Chinook and Amarillo hops with lactose and vanilla added for the birthday cake feels blended to create the perfect party mix for customers to enjoy.

Michael Capewell, Director of Lab Culture, explained: “The team and I are extremely excited to celebrate our first anniversary at Lab Culture. The party beer fully represents what Lab Culture has to offer; something a bit quirky and different from your regular beers. This sits well with our ethos at Lab Culture and our backstory with our vertical farm, Vertivore.”

Launched in late 2018, Lab Culture boasts a unique brewing process, taking advantage of the wasted heat from LED lighting used for the group’s vertical farm, Vertivore, which produces high-quality year-round salads, herbs and plants.

Fast forward just twelve months and Lab Culture is now being sold in renowned supplier chains Ales R Russ, Inn Express and RAD Beer and has also been exclusively featured in several pubs and bars around the Midlands.

The brand’s most recent visit to Solihull Food Festival saw the launch of its latest speciality brew, Lime All Yours, Basil, which is a nod to their neighbouring vertical farm’s lime basil.

“We’ve been incredibly lucky to have had such a phenomenal first year in business”, continued Michael. “We boast a successful run of partnerships with wholesalers and local bars and pubs to get our tasty brews in more places than ever before. To round it all off, we have grown our team to help build the brand even further and have even been featured on the BBC!”

In addition to launching their first-ever limited-edition brew, the team will be celebrating its success by hosting three of their latest beer flavours at The Anchor in Digbeth, inviting customers to come along and celebrate with the team.

Lab Culture creates several types of beers all big on fruit and hops, including a pale ale, an IPA and a session rye IPA. For more information, visit www.labculture.co.uk.
