Solihull’s tastiest fun run is back!

Chocolate 5k to return in September.

The fun run with a tasty twist – the Chocolate 5k – returns to Solihull this September, helping to raise crucial funds for Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice.

Chocolate lovers will be able to indulge in sweet treats without any of the guilt, as they burn off the calories while running round Elmdon Park Nature Reserve.

At the unique event, sweet-toothed Brummies will be able to run, jog, or walk around the scenic route, picking up branded treats from chocolate stations along the way. On finishing the course, victory will be sweet, as runners will receive a commemorative medal and gooey chocolate pot as a reward.

Organised by Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, this is the third time the local charity has hosted its Chocolate 5k in Solihull, with the previous two runs taking place at Dorridge Village Hall. All funds raised will go towards the Hospice, which provides vital care to individuals and families living with terminal illness in Greater Birmingham and Sandwell.

Lucy Watkins, events manager at Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, said: “Solihull certainly has a sweet-tooth as our last two events have been incredibly popular, helping to raise an impressive £20k for our Hospice.

“Whether you’re a running enthusiast or a complete beginner, our event is a fun way of mixing chocolate with running, allowing you to enjoy tasty treats completely guilt-free. Even better, your generous support will make a huge difference to local families living with terminal illness, as every penny raised will help us to continue to provide our free, vital services.”

Birmingham St Mary’s Chocolate 5k takes place on Sunday 3rd September. Registration begins at 9.30am, with the run starting at 11am. Tickets cost £15 for adults and £10 for children, with free admission for children under five. Family tickets, which are for two adults and up to three children, cost £45.
