Hair today, and tomorrow

Jewellery Quarter event aims to raise money for Movember.

Jewellery Quarter businesses 1000 Trades and Barberology are teaming up for an evening of Movember madness, in a bid to raise money for the men’s health charity.

For one evening only, the Barberology team will be picking up their clippers and trimmers and setting up shop at independent bar, 1000 Trades on Fredrick Street, on the 2nd November, as the two businesses host the fourth JQ Fusions event, organised by the Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District.

There will be two ticket prices available for the evening; for those without beards or for those growing them out for Movember, the £7 ticket offers the chance to try out four 1/3 pints of the beers on offer, while the £10 package will be great for those looking to fully indulge in a clean shave or beard trim as well as the beer tasting. £3 from every ticket sold will be donated to men’s healthy charity, Movember.

The evening will offer all attendees the chance to try out a selection of cask and craft ales, carefully selected by 1000 Trades from small independent breweries, while the gents will have the chance to get their growing beards trimmed and styled by the experts at Barberology. The teams from both businesses will be on hand to chat to guests about their specialities, giving advice on male grooming and offering beer suggestions.

Speaking of the event, Kim Loynes, JQBID event manager, says “JQ Fusions is all about celebrating the unique and diverse businesses in the Jewellery Quarter, and we’re delighted to have the opportunity this month to shine a light on a worthy cause. Because £3 from every ticket will go to Movember, men and women alike will have the opportunity to get involved in the event.

“It’s set to be a great evening and a chance for Jewellery Quarter locals or those from further out to discover what 1000 Trades and Barberology have to offer, as well as raise money for a charitable cause.”
