Novel clothing fair for city centre

Successful pay as you weigh concept returns.

October sees the return of the hugely popular Vintage Weigh & Pay to Birmingham city centre. The event will again take place at St Martin in the Bull Ring on Saturday 8th October. The Vintage Weigh & Pay allows customers to pick and mix their vintage clothing, as they would in a sweet shop, just in time for all thenew students that have arrived in Birmingham!

This pop up shopping event is the brainchild of two big Sheffield names, award-winning Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair and local super vintage store Mooch Vintag, providing the people of Birmingham quality clothing at a wholesale price not normally offered to the general public.

The Vintage Weigh & Pay offers extremely affordable vintage clothing from the 1960s to the 1980s at only £15 per kilo. The event tours the UK with dates already announced in Manchester, Liverpool and Cambridge.

Co-founder and Organiser Lou Lou Glover says “It’s a unique concept where our customers simply pay for the weight of what they pick – and they can buy as little or as much as they want. This makes it super cheap with light weight dresses and t-shirts literally ringing up at £1.50 “

The event has returned to Birmingham by popular demand, after more than 1,500 bargain-hunting customers came to the last Vintage Weigh & Pay event. Lou Lou goes on to say “The event last time was so popular that we realised there was a huge market for this. It’s not just shopping; it’s a novel and fun way to buy clothing and the quality of our stock is what sets it above other similar events.”

Five tonnes of vintage clothing will fill St Martin on Saturday 8th October. Customers can pick through thousands of vintage items, go to the weighing station and pay only for the weight. For those particuarly eager, paying extra gets early entry to the event.

Vintage Weight & Pay takes place on Saturday 8th October 11am-5pm at St Martin’s in the Bull Ring, Edgbaston Street, B5 5BB. Entry: £1.50 (Early bird from 10am: £3)
