The following night, Thursday 21st July, has another returning favourite. Hayseed Dixie, the world’s foremost comedy hillbilly country rock band, will be peforming their unique take on a set full of rock standards that has seen them gain a top-class reputation as a banjo-twanging, feelgood live act at festivals and their own sold-out shows all over the world.

Monday 25th July has a new band for the Robin, although they’re hardly new in terms of performance. The Kentucky Headhunters have been described as “Southern Rock royalty”, an accolade that has been earned via a Grammy award, top ten albums and an enviable live reputation. Their latest recording, Meet Me in Bluesland. was a collaboration with former Chuck Berry piano legend Johnnie Johnson and went to number one on the Billboard blues charts in its first week of release.

Then on Tuesday 26th July another Robin regular takes to the stage. Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band are a throwback to the timeless hillbilly sound of forests and mountains, a “twenty-year-old bourbon in a room of vodka Red Bulls,” according to one commentator. If Son House was around now he’d sound a lot like this.

Tickets £12.50
