Brummie beauty queen battles to be crowned Miss England

Model aims to win accolade at seaside final.

Preparations are under way for the Brummie-based model Maria Gardner to represent England’s second city and bring home the crown. On the 20th and 21st July, Maria will battle it out in Southport against 50 other regional winners to find who will represent the country at Miss World this year.

Maria says “I’m just so excited to represent this incredible city. Being England’s second city I want to be there to show what the Midlands can bring to a National competition.”

Since winning Miss Birmingham 2016 in association with Beyond Beauty clinic on Broad Street, Maria has been working hard to represent the city, helping with many charity events across the local area. Recently supporting the RSPCA Birmingham Animal Centre, Maria commented, “It really is amazing to see the hard work these volunteers and staff are doing to save the lives of these innocent and beautiful animals. I would like to help them in any way I can, to give a voice to those who can’t speak for themselves.”

Maria is now planning her preparation for the Miss England 2016 finals, aiming to raise money for Miss England’s chosen charity Beauty With a Purpose helping disadvantaged children, locally, nationally and worldwide.
