Pupils grow together

Art workshop for specialist school.

Pupils at Solihull School were joined by children from a special school for an art workshop which aimed to encourage the youngsters to learn from each other.

Themed ‘growing together’, the children worked to create a banner which will be displayed at Reynolds Cross; a specialist school in Olton which caters for pupils aged two to 19 with severe to profound learning disabilities.

Michael Jones, deputy head of Solihull Junior School, said: “We were happy to invite the children from Reynolds Cross to use our facilities; it was great to see the two sets of pupils working so well together.”

Emilie Lewin, class teacher at Reynolds Cross School, added: “Our children love art and getting messy so they thoroughly enjoyed creating the banner with the help of the Solihull School pupils. The finished article is already being displayed at our school and is a great example of how our students can work well with others.”
