Millennium Point to ho-ho-host festive films for all

Big screen for the holidays.

With December now here, Millennium Point’s Giant Screen is hosting a range of festive films to get visitors into the Christmas spirit.

Millennium Point’s Christmas Season officially kicks-off on Saturday, 6th December at 11.30am where families will be able to enjoy a screening of The Night Before Christmas in 3D. Tim Burton’s 1993 classic tells the story of Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloween Town who is bored of doing the same thing every year for Halloween. Taken with the idea of Christmas, Jack tries to get the resident bat, ghouls and goblins to help him host Christmas instead of Halloween.

On Monday, 22nd December at 11am, visitors are invited to sit back, relax and watch the beloved family comedy, Home Alone. The film tells the story of a young boy who is accidentally left behind when his family travel to France for the holiday season, leaving him behind to protect his family home from two burglars.

Climb aboard the Christmas adventure as The Polar Express in 3D brings magic and music to life. The film tells the story of a young boy, who takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole and embarks on a journey of self-discovery and the true magic of Christmas. Families can enjoy the film on Tuesday, 23rd December and Christmas Eve at 11am.

As well as the Christmas films, Millennium Point’s Giant Screen will be hosting all three editions of The Hobbit starting from 6pm on Thursday, 11th December with the latest version of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies showcasing at midnight. The People’s Orchestra will also be there on the night playing scores from The Lord of the Rings and other classic movies.

Neil Anderson, director of marketing, communications and events at Millennium Point, said: “There’s no better way to get into the seasonal spirit than by watching a Christmas film and we’ve got a variety to suit all ages and tastes. The Frozen Sing-along may be sold out but we’ve got plenty to offer so come along and get into the Christmas spirit this December.”
