‘Allo ‘allo – can anyone help?

Wartime request from theatre group.

The Lichfield Players would love to hear from any local pubs or members of the public who can help the society step back in time for their new year production, ‘Allo ‘Allo.

Whilst props such as German sausages, a wireless disguised as a cockatoo and a blow-up Hitler doll have all been sourced, the society are in need of an authentic-looking till for the cast bar staff to tot up the on-stage drinks.

“‘The play is set during World War II in the French town of Nouvion, and we’d love to make everything on stage fit the play’s very specific time capsule,” said producer Kathy Bryers. “The cast have nailed their characters, we’ve ordered costumes which will look familiar to the TV show’s fans, and would love to get all the finer details spot on.”

Written by Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft, the creators of the world-famous sitcom, and true to the TV series, ‘Allo ‘Allo’s stage play follows the misadventures of hapless cafe owner Rene Artois in occupied France. Including everyone’s favourite characters and that iconic, bawdy humour, the Lichfield Players’ production runs at the Lichfield Garrick from 21st to 24th January 2015.
