Autumn upfront at The Drum

Comedy season launched at arts centre.

The Drum and Upfront Comedy are launching their autumn season with some of the best stand up from around the UK and beyond. Returning favourites include Stephen K Amos, Tony Hendricksand Jamie Howard, with American sensations Akaash Singh and Wil E Robo. There’ll also be laughs from rising stars, with sets from Funmbi, Than’tia Moore, and Birmingham’s own Smash.

Things kick off with the September Slam on Saturday 5th September at 7pm. Tickets start from £13.50, and all four shows cost £48 with a season ticket.

Friday 5th September. September Slam
The season begins with a rare live appearance from TV favourite Stephen K Amos. He’s joined by comedy writer, performer and podcaster Felicity Ethnic, and award-winning newcomer Fumnbi Omotayo.

Friday 3rd October. Upfront USA Special
It’s an international special in October, as three of America’s funniest performers hit The Drum – Wil E Robo, star of Puff Daddy’s Bad Boys of Comedy; Florida’s award winning Sean Grant; and Akaash Singh, the funniest Indian comedian to come out of Dallas.

Friday 7th November. Upfront Winter Warmer.
Guest host kat from MTV Bass introduces a bill headlined by Drum favourite Tony Hendriks, the scary Maureen Younger, and Birmingham’s new young hope Smash.

Friday 5th December. Upfront Christmas Special
Slick double act Jefferson and Whitfield, veterans of The Real McCoy, bring their smooth routines to The Drum alongside cheeky cockney wide boy Jamie Howard and rising star Thanyia Moore.

Tickets start from £13.50 (£11.50 with concession) in advance, and £16.50 on the door, with great Caribbean food available all night.
