Motionhouse introduces junior offering

Chance for young people to learn dance with top company.

Leading UK dance theatre company Motionhouse is creating exciting opportunities for young people through its innovative new dance programme.

Designed for 8-13 year olds, Motionhouse Junior encourages aspiring dancers to come and learn innovative athletic dance and creative choreography in weekly classes with Motionhouse’s dance experts.

Attendees will develop their dance craft through learning new skills and techniques and improving their confidence, with each term ending with a dance performance.

The launch of Motionhouse Junior builds on the success of Motionhouse Youth, which was introduced in 2011 for 14–19 year olds. Motionhouse Youth was one of five Midlands companies selected to perform at the MY Dance Festival in Nottingham which will take place in April this year.

Kevin Finnan MBE, Artistic Director of Motionhouse who choreographed the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, said: “Working with young people has always been at the heart of what we do and the launch of Motionhouse Junior demonstrates our commitment to developing an innovative programme of dance for young people.”

Motionhouse Junior is available for anyone of all dance backgrounds to attend on Thursday evenings 5.30pm-6.45pm at the Motionhouse studio in Spencer Yard, Leamington Spa. Motionhouse Junior is £8 per session paid on a termly basis.
