The Donkey Sanctuary’s Assisted Therapy Centre in Birmingham has announced the launch of a new Adopt a Donkey scheme that brings a modern update to an unusual and unique gift.

The new Adopt a Donkey scheme brings new perks such as postcards, a framed portrait and supporters can keep up to date with their donkey’s antics via Facebook and Twitter and even visit their very own donkey in person. There are three Birmingham adoptees to choose from all with their own individual personality, so whether you’re looking for a mischievous, large, small, loving or calm and quiet donkey, there really is a friend for everyone.

Adopting a donkey costs just £24 for one year or £2 per month, and an adoption pack includes a framed portrait, postcards, a certificate, your donkey’s story, links to the adoption Facebook and Twitter accounts and a    Memory Maker app

Centre manager Sue Brennan says: “The Donkey Sanctuary adoption scheme is the perfect way to get your daily dose of donkey capers and you’ll be part of our donkeys’ lives forever. Our donkeys come to us for many different reasons such as neglect or just because their owners can no longer care for them. Fall in love with Cisco, the miniature donkey or the easy-going donkey of the group, Moses. If you like a cheeky chappy then Oscar is for you. You can visit the wonderful donkeys at our centre in Sutton Park. By adopting your donkey you’ll guarantee their future with us where they will never want for warmth, care or food again.”

Adopt a Donkey packs can be ordered online via www.adoptadonkey.org.uk, by calling 01395 573133 or by visiting The Donkey Sanctuary.
