Coventry enters the Premier League

First world ranking for city university.

Coventry University is celebrating another league table success today as it features for the first time in the respected QS World University Rankings 2013/14.

The rankings, which represent the world’s top 4% of higher education institutions, take into account the subject range, research output and academic reputation of over 3,000 universities from across all continents.

Employability is also a key factor in compiling the table, with international companies in sectors such as IT, engineering, healthcare and media asked to identify up to 30 institutions they consider excellent for the recruitment of graduates.

Coventry’s entry into the global league table follows recent strong performances in UK rankings such as last month’s National Student Survey – which saw satisfied students vote the University into the country’s top 15 overall – and the Guardian University Guide 2014, which ranks Coventry as the number one modern university in the UK.

Dr David Pilsbury, pro-vice-chancellor for international development at Coventry University, said: “To be recognised in such a well-respected international league table for universities is further evidence of Coventry University’s growing reputation in the UK and internationally.

“We are committed to fostering a truly global outlook among our students and staff, through our teaching, exchange programmes, international work placement opportunities and through global academic and industry partnerships. These latest rankings indicate that our approach is really making a difference, both for our students around the world and for the organisations we work with locally and internationally.”
