Sandwell anti-social behaviour officers invites public to web chat

Opportunity to question Sandwell police.

The officer responsible for co-ordinating the way Sandwell police deal with anti-social behaviour is inviting the public to take part in an online discussion.

On Thursday 22nd August PC Steve Thompson from the partnerships team is inviting the public to send in questions or feedback through an online web chat. Sandwell police have already hosted a number of successful web chats with various neighbourhood policing teams across the borough and are now focusing on key areas of police work, giving the public an opportunity to ask questions and find out more about the work they do.

Residents will be able to ask questions live to PC Steve Thompson between 6pm and 7pm. It will be available on the Sandwell Police website under the find out more section http://www.west-midlands.police.uk/np/sandwell/findoutmore/live-chat.asp You can remain anonymous and there is no need to register. You will also be able to see the questions that other people are asking. If you can’t tune in between 6pm and 7pm you will be able to replay the event.

PC Thompson said: “We have a great relationship with many local residents and partner agencies that we work closely with. But I am aware that many people in our community might like to find out more about the work I am involved in and how we deal with anti-social behaviour.

“I’m also aware that there are lots of people in our community who will never be able to make it to a residents’ meeting because the time or venue isn’t right for them. Therefore I am keen to offer an alternative way for people to talk to me about local issues. If you have any questions about your neighbourhood or even if you have a burning question that you have already always wanted to ask the police check out the web chat.”
