Tan Rosie to Represent the Caribbean at the Eat the World Global Feast

Birmingham based chefs and food producers Tan Rosie will be representing the Caribbean during the Eat the World Global Feast – An Olympic Dining Experience on Saturday 11 August.

Tan RosieThe Global Feast, an exciting new food experience, offers different world cuisines each night of the Olympics, as diners sit round a giant sculptural model of the world – 15-metres long, 6-metres wide and over 2-metres tall – an installation doubling as both table and seating and just a stone’s throw from the Olympic Park, at Stratford Town Hall, London.

The event organised by Latitudinal Cuisine and curated and co-hosted by Kerstin Rodgers of The Underground Restaurant, will see Chefs Monica Cudjoe and Lee Sylvester from Tan Rosie take guests through a journey of the Caribbean on their night – with dishes from Grenada, Jamaica and Cuba along with their own creative interpretations.

Their night’s four course menu will include different Caribbean dishes such as slow roasted jerk belly pork and stuffed plantains with spinach canapés, hearty dishes of curry mutton with rice and peas and will all be washed down Monica’s homemade ginger drink.

During the event each guest will dine in a unique part of the sculptural space, designed by atmos – the art and architecture studio founded by Alex Haw. Guests will sit upon sculptured oceans, coastlines, cities and mountains – with a bespoke set of plates and napkins illustrating their location in the world.

Lee Sylvester of Tan Rosie said: “Taking part in such an exciting event is a real delight for both Monica and I. We are proud that on our night that we will be representing our Caribbean heritage but to also to be part of this twenty day event that takes people across the globe. The event is a great example of the diverse cultures we have here in the UK and the influence this has had on our food.”

About Tan Rosie Ltd
Mother and daughter team Monica and Lee founded Tan Rosie Foods in 2010 to create enticing Caribbean food inspired by family recipes from the Caribbean Islands of Grenada and Carriacou from their base in Birmingham, UK.

Tan Rosie, the name inspired by Monica’s grandmother who inspired her to cook, has become synonymous with delicious spicy Caribbean food and produce throughout the UK.

Monica, a seasoned cook with a strong Caribbean heritage, started cooking from an early age in her home country of Carriacou. Since moving to England in the 1960s she has always tried to mix Caribbean cooking with different cuisines.

Since launching Tan Rosie in 2010 their company has gone from strength-to-strength and also includes a Caribbean Supper Club Restaurant – a fantastic alternative dining experience. The club caters for up to sixteen people and provides a 4 course Caribbean dinner in Monica’s very own living room.

Guests get the chance to eat authentic and tasty Caribbean food from a variety of different islands, all cooked up and hosted by Monica.
