Wedding time for Charlotte – again!

It’s not often that a bride gets to wear two wedding dresses in the space of six months – but that’s what’s happening to Lichfield Players actress Charlotte Killick, who is appearing in one of the four one-act comedies which make up their next production, Duets by Peter Quilter.

Last September Charlotte got married in real life – her husband, Bill, is directing one of the other Duets. This month she’ll be putting on a wedding dress again (but not the same one!) when she plays apprehensive third-time bride Angela in the fourth of the four short plays, appropriately called The Bride-to-be.

The other three plays in Duets are Blind Date, in which we see the first encounter of a couple who have met through lonely-hearts ads; Secretarial Skills, when secretary Janet proves just how indispensable she is to boss Barrie; and The Holiday – Shelley and Bobby are taking the holiday they’ve paid for in spite of having decided to divorce. And in between the plays there will be musical interludes, in which Charlotte’s sister Becky Hyland will be one of the performers; in fact it’s a family affair since their mum Rosemary Bodger will be appearing in The Holiday while dad Andrew, Chairman of Lichfield Players, has designed the set for the production.

There are lots of laughs in Duets, so the Players invite everyone to come and share in the fun. It will be performed at the Lichfield Garrick Studio over two weeks, running from Tuesday to Saturday each week: 20th to 24th March and 27th to 31st March.
