Tararaboomdeay!

Tararaboomdeay! The history of the music hall is heading to The Public on Friday 15 April as Gaiety present, Tararaboomdeay.

Visitors to the Black Country arts centre are invited to join Marie Lloyd and Vesta Tilley as they take you on a nostalgic journey through a hundred years of comedy, songs, sketches, sing-along and mayhem!

Music Hall started in the mid 1850s with Victorian parlour entertainment and moved through to the 1950s embracing many styles of performance including vaudeville, monologue, skits, sketches, melodrama, dance, male impersonation and sing-along. The two main characters will take you on a journey exploring these avenues.

With sing-along song sheets to boot, this uplifting performance promises to leave the audience with smiles on their faces!

Linda Saunders, Managing Director of The Public said, “Tararaboomdeay is a fantastic production that is a fun old fashioned piece of entertainment.  Not only is it a great opportunity to have a sing-a-long, audience members will be able to reminisce about times gone by.”

Tararaboomdeay! takes place on Friday 15 April at 3pm.  Tickets for the event are £3 advance, £4 on the door and are available from The Public box office or by calling 0121 533 7161.
