The Abyssinians

On Wednesday 16th March the Assembly offers a rare chance to see reggae veterans The Abyssinians.

This three-piece reggae harmony group are regarded as the forefathers of modern dub, and this is the only local date on their European tour. Ticket £15.

The following night sees a real contrast in the shape of singer/songwriter/guitarist Steve Luthaker, best known for his work with Toto, but also a musician who has played with names such as Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin and Stevie Nicks. Tickets £23.

On Friday there’s what looks like an interesting night as TV Smith & the Valentines perform a set of punk classics from his first band, the cult-heroic Adverts. Tickets £10.

And if you missed out on celebrating St Patrick’s Day for any reason you get a second chance on Saturday with local hero Eddie Fitz and his Irish party, featuring assorted Irish performers and dancers. Tickets £7.50.
