Father Hudson’s launch Christmas fundraiser

Support Christmas campaign to help rough sleepers in Birmingham.

From 1st-8th December, social care charity Father Hudson’s Care is taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge. They will be aiming to raise £17,000 to support the work of Tabor House, their community project that provides a lifeline of support to people in Birmingham who are affected by homelessness.

All donations received between these dates will be doubled thanks to the Big Give, which runs the UK’s biggest match funding campaign, the Christmas Challenge. For seven days, it offers supporters of participating charities the opportunity to have their donation doubled. Since it launched in 2008, the Christmas Challenge has raised millions of pounds for thousands of charity projects.

Tabor House, despite the pandemic, has remained open and committed to helping those affected by homelessness. In response to the pandemic Tabor has had to convert their open-plan living space to a number of Perspex pods, to help eliminate any risk of infection spread and maintain social distancing guidelines. Lockdown has also meant that Tabor has transformed from a night shelter to a 24/7 supported accommodation project.

The funding from the Big Christmas Give will help the project continue to work in these unprecedented times. It will also support the development of a second building, which will allow them to work with more guests increasing current capacity from eight to eleven.

Between midday on 1st December and midday on 8th December, you donate via the Big Give Challenge page. All donations during this time will be doubled thanks to match funding.
