The five-day programme, Theatre Making at The Rep, runs from August 3rd to 7th (10am-1pm), and will explore devising, movement, puppetry, monologues and audition techniques with The Rep’s Creative Learning team. This amazing opportunity – all in a safe, socially distanced environment – is available to all 15-19 year-old progressing students, applicants and alumni of Performing Arts.

Romeo and Juliet Reloaded is a week of online drama workshops led by Rep practitioner Lucy Bird. This exciting introduction to Romeo and Juliet and the wider world of theatre from The Rep runs from August 24th to 28th (11am-12.30pm). The workshops will examine the meaning behind the text and what it means to be a director, actor, designer and writer. Students will also complete fun and creative tasks and exercises relating to these roles.

Alex Summers, The Rep’s Director of Creative Learning said: “We are delighted to be delivering these great programmes with Cadbury College students, both online and in person, and look forward to continued creative engagement with their Performing Arts team.”

Michelle King, Head of Creative Industries at Cadbury College, said: “This unique partnership with Birmingham Repertory Theatre is incredibly exciting for us – it will allow our students, both old and new, to develop their experience and skillset, whilst providing them with exclusive access to one of Birmingham’s biggest theatre brands.

“These masterclasses are a real representation of the opportunities offered as part of the creative industries curriculum, and we can’t wait to develop our relationship with The REP when teaching can begin again.”
