Top names to perform for Artrix fundraiser

An evening of great live music, with Andy Bennett and special guests.

Singer and musician Andy Bennett returns to Artrix Arts Centre in Bromsgrove with a line-up of great local bands on Saturday 11th April, as part of the Easter Weekender.

Best known for his work with Ocean Colour Scene, Andy will be headlining the gig along with his talented band, plus support acts and special guests.

Andy was so taken by Artrix when he performed in September he was keen to not only return for another gig, but to also help support the venue’s future. The Solihull-based musician devised this gig to bring together amazing local talent and to raise funds for the organisation.

He said; “There are not many venues left where you can see top artists perform up-close and personal and with a live band! This is why I’m so pleased to lend my support to an event that raises funds for Artrix Arts Centre. I was shocked to hear of the funding cuts that have faced Artrix and other performance venues and I will do what I can to raise awareness.

“Please come along for a great night out, all the money raised will be going towards the work that Artrix does and to help keep this Bromsgrove gem of a venue a success for many years to come.”

Artrix is a registered charity and stopped receiving regular funding from Bromsgrove District Council in 2018.

Angela Galvin, Director of Artrix said; “Artrix has been at the heart of entertainment, culture and community in Bromsgrove since 2005. Local and national artists all comment on the brilliant and friendly atmosphere, so it’s a real boost that Andy and guests have put this fundraising gig together to support our future and, just as importantly, create a fantastic night out with some brilliant bands from the local music circuit.”

Andy Bennett & special guests is set to be an evening packed full of great live music. Supporting Andy is Worcestershire’s very own dynamic six-piece covers band, Blind Lemon.

Also on the line-up and returning to the stage at Artrix are local favourites Jack Read and the Shaders. Combining strong harmonies, aggressive guitars and solid beats, they are one of the hottest young bands around.

As if a line-up featuring these three top acts isn’t enough, there’s the possibility of more guest performers to be announced.

Tickets for Andy Bennett are £15 each and all proceeds go to Artrix. To book tickets or for further information visit www.artrix.co.uk or call the box office on 01527 577330.
