Record year for Birmingham charity

LoveBrum’s donations to local good causes tops £70,000 in 2019.

Birmingham-based charity LoveBrum has announced its best year ever, with a total of £73,000 in donations to local causes in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 20%.

As a registered charity, LoveBrum aims to support hidden gem projects across Birmingham that deliver real change, and every penny raised from individual memberships and fundraising goes straight to these chosen causes.

Initiatives that have received donations throughout 2019 include Little Heroes Wear Masks, a scheme running at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Charity to provide young cancer patients with a personalised radiography mask; Eloquent Praise & Empowerment Dance Company, which teaches all styles of dance to children in Birmingham but also provides additional support to help young people overcome personal challenges; and DiscoInclusive, a new inclusive disco that brings adults with impairments and disabilities together to help combat issues with health, wellbeing, and social isolation.

Paul Mitchell, Executive Director at LoveBrum, comments: “It’s been our most successful year to date in terms of fundraising; all of us at LoveBrum really want to make a difference to lives in Birmingham, and the generous donations will help these causes to be able to continue the incredible work they do.

“Our Big Quiz in March is going to be the next major fundraiser to keep the momentum going – a great evening of entertainment, food, dancing, awards, and, of course, quizzing.”
