Taste of the Mailbox full line-up announced

Foodie heaven at canalside venue.

Set to return next weekend, the full programme for Taste of the Mailbox has now been announced, with an exciting line-up of special appearances and events.

Visitors can expect demonstrations from their favourite chefs, a taste of the finest produce from a farmers’ market curated by Ludlow Food Festival, complimentary treats from the Mailbox’s own bars and restaurants and many more mouth-watering events.

Some of the Birmingham’s most renowned chefs will be making special appearances throughout the festival to offer an insight into their culinary worlds. On Saturday 3rd August, Brad Carter of the Michelin starred restaurant, Carters of Moseley, will host an exclusive cookery demonstration in the Kitchen Gallery showroom and will be joined by BBC Midlands journalist, Beccy Wood to chat through his experiences in the kitchen. Tickets are priced at £55 and includes a signed copy of Brad’s new cookbook, Staff and the chance to sample two oyster and duck dishes.

Elsewhere on Canalside, one of the city’s most-loved food vendors, Andy Stubbs of Low ‘N’ Slow will be smoking up a treat with a special BBQ demonstration on Sunday 4th August. Discover how to choose the perfect cuts of meat and serve a delicious barbequed steak every time.

Also taking residency on Mailbox’s Canalside are social media sensations, Craig and Shaun of Original Flava. Known for their offering of Caribbean cuisine made simple, the two brothers will be treating visitors to a taste of their most popular recipes on Saturday, before joining Beccy Wood in the Urban Room on Level 2 to answer questions from the audience and help bring da’flava into their own homes.

From Friday to Sunday, visitors can enjoy complimentary food sampling from the Mailbox’s finest restaurants on Canalside, while a host of expert mixologists take turns to serve up their cocktail classics at the Urban Room bar.

Across the weekend, Level 3 will be home to a farmers’ market curated by the prestigious Ludlow Food Festival. Offering everything from luxury handmade doughnuts to craft ale and charcuterie, visitors will have the chance to taste a delicious slice of everything Ludlow and the Welsh Marches have to offer.

For those looking to swap the hustle and bustle of the market for a quiet tipple, take a trip to the private dining room at Harvey Nichols on Sunday afternoon for an intimate wine tasting event. For just £20, you’ll discover a selection of still and sparkling wines from their own-label ranges while enjoying a specially curated assortment of cheeses to complement each drink.

Head to the big screen within the Urban Room from 11am each day to sit back and enjoy a scrumptious selection of foodie films. From Chocolat to Ratatouille, there’s something for all the family to enjoy.

To complete the selection of Taste offerings, local businesses including Halfpenny Cider and Pip’s Hot Sauce will be showcasing their best-sellers on Level 1. Joining them is the team behind Kamado Joe, who will be showcasing their premium outdoor grills and barbeques.
