Birmingham Jazz presents

Another night of quality jazz in store.

On Friday, Birmingham Jazz bring the Dave Storey trio to 1,000 Trades in the Jewellery Quarter this coming Friday.

The trio composes and plays in the classic jazz tradition with strong energy, originality and an intrinsic sense of playfulness that is hard to ignore. They also play a mixture of jazz standards depending on the context of a gig. After five years of regular performances in and around London, the band have worked hard on developing their sound and listeners note that their communication in performance shows a deep connection.

Dave Storey studied Jazz Drum-kit at the Royal Academy of Music with an eclectic mix of influential drummers such as Jim Hart, Martin France, Tim Giles, Mark Sanders and Gene Calderazzo. Since completing his masters he has quickly established himself on the London jazz scene playing regularly at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Kansas Smitty’s & The Vortex Jazz Club.

1,000 Trades, 16 Frederick Street, Birmingham B1 3HE, Friday 3rd May.
