Birmingham Airport gets set for Easter

Over 140,000 passengers expected through airport over the holiday period.

Birmingham Airport is looking forward to a busy Easter weekend welcoming over 141,000 passengers during the four-day holiday period. This is an increase of 7% over Easter last year.

Over 141,000 travellers will be jetting off for sunshine escapes, long weekend city breaks and family get-togethers, using their time off work and school for a well-earned break.

As passengers arrive at the airport they will receive a special welcome to start their journey with some Easter fun and treats.

Good Friday will mark the start of the Easter celebrations, a time of year where spring has sprung, and families are ready to escape to warmer climates for a city break or a relaxing beach holiday.

For passengers travelling between Good Friday through to Easter Monday Airport staff will be in the terminal handing out leaflets about the Easter weekend activity schedule.

Stuart Haseley-Nejrup, Head of Customer Experience at the airport, commenting on the activity said: “We are looking forward to welcoming all of our customers over the Easter break. To make sure that even our youngest customers are kept busy we have organised an Easter egg hunt through the terminal. With a little bit of help from their travelling companion, or our customer experience staff, I’m sure everyone will be able to find the treasure at the end of the Easter egg hunt. We also have our mascot, Zoom, on hand to help with a little assistance from the Sky Cadets.

“At our play areas, SkyZone, we have the creation station for those who are feeling creative. Here people can make sun vizors ready for their holiday. Customer service is always at the forefront of our activities and we sincerely hope this leads to an enjoyable experience as our customers travel through.”

The most popular Easter getaway destinations from Birmingham Airport are Dublin, Dubai, Palma de Mallorca and Alicante.
