Search for Insomnia64’s Junior Reporter goes live

Gaming reporter required to rove around the NEC.

The UK’s biggest gaming festival, Insomnia, is on the lookout once more for its Junior Reporter! Have what it takes to ask the world’s biggest YouTubers the nitty-gritty questions? Got gaming on the brain 24/7? Aged 11-16? Then YOU could be it.

Insomnia is searching for budding journalists who know their stuff about gaming and e-sports, giving one lucky winner the chance to have access to all areas at its show in Birmingham this April. The four-day non-stop gaming festival will take over the NEC from 19th-22nd April, and the Junior Reporter will be on the front row for all of the action. They will have the chance to chat with the biggest YouTubers, pick the brains of the latest games developers and even get their hands on the newest releases to put to the test.

Forecasted to be the biggest show yet, Insomnia 2019 gives attendees an opportunity to meet like-minded members of the online community in real-life. During the festival, gamers will be able to try the latest games; take part in BYOC (also known as Bring Your Own Computer), the UK’s biggest LAN party where over 2,500 attendees can play against each other live; and even meet and greet the likes of Syndicate, NerdOut Music and SeaPeekAY.

Last year’s Junior Reporter, Tommy Lad, thoroughly enjoyed the experience, getting the chance to interview the attending YouTubers and playing all the latest games along with talking to publishers about future plans along with capturing some memories to share on social for the people who were unable to attend.

Amongst the famous faces set to make an appearance at the festival include Syndicate, a popular gaming YouTube channel with an astonishing 9.9 million subscribers. Producers of family-friendly game channels Dangthatsalongname and SeaPeekAY will also be joining in the gametopia, as well as ImAllexx, James Marriot, 8-BitGaming, NerdOut Music, DAGames, and Midlands based YouTuber, Pyrocynical.

To be in for a chance of becoming Insomnia’s 2019 Junior Reporter, all you need to do is submit a video explaining what you’re looking forward to at the festival in a one-minute clip using #i64JuniorReporter. Alternatively, you can enter by emailing [email protected] or via the Insomnia Gaming Festival Facebook page. Entrants need to be aged 11-16, have parental consent and entries will close on 31st March. The winner will receive entrance to the event everyday along with up to three guests.
