World-famous YouTubers take control of Insomnia’s main stage.
Calling all gamers! This one’s for you: all your favourite YouTubers, under one roof, playing all the hottest games for four days straight. YouTubers including SeaPeekAY, Syndicate, ImAlexx and Pyrocynical, some of the biggest names in gaming, will be taking control of Insomnia’s main stage once more as the festival returns to the city in April.
This Easter will be one to remember for all gaming fans as the UK’s largest gaming festival, Insomnia, returns to the NEC Birmingham, bringing four days of non-stop playing in the city. Kicking off on 19th April until 22 nd April, the festival is set to make every gamer’s dream come true, and with the announcement of the gaming YouTuber line-up, this year’s festival is gearing up to be the best yet.
Amongst the famous faces set to make an appearance at the festival include Syndicate, a popular gaming YouTube channel with an astonishing 9.9 million subscribers. The YouTuber and blogger behind the channel, is 25-year-old Tom Cassell from Manchester. Tom, better known as Syndicate, shares all things gaming with his audience including videos of him playing games such as Minecraft, Black Ops, GTA and Call of Duty.
Producers of family-friendly game channels Dangthatsalongname and SeaPeekAY will also be joining in the gametopia. Scott Major, has grown his channel to 489,526 subscribers since first uploading YouTube videos in 2013, mainly playing Minecraft and Sims.
Impressively, Callum Knight who runs SeaPeekAY has landed three Guinness World Records in his career, two of which were for building Minecraft, and his channel has now reached a staggering 549,119 subscribers.
A handful of fun and entertaining YouTubers will also be attending, including channels that create commentary videos such as ImAllexx (1.2 million subscribers) and James Marriot (467,000 subscribers), music and entertainment for gaming, 8-BitGaming (1.1 million subscribers), NerdOut Music (2.3 million subscribers), DAGames (1.4 million subscribers), and Birmingham based YouTuber, Pyrocynical (2.8 million subscribers).
Pyrocynical, also known as Niall, is local YouTuber from the Midlands who rose to fame a couple of years ago after setting up his gaming channel just for fun, as it was something he enjoyed doing in his spare time. After posting regular videos, he’s managed to engage millions of video views, with one of his earliest videos reaching up to 13 million people.
Niall commented: “I never imagined YouTube would become a job just after a few years, and now I’m going to be appearing at the UK’s biggest gaming festival! I’m really looking forward to meeting my subscribers at Insomnia, I love chatting to them, and hopefully I’ll get to meet some international subscribers there too which will be amazing.”
Forecasted to be the biggest show yet, Insomnia 2019 is brought to fans by GAME, and will take place from 19-22 April, giving attendees an opportunity to meet like-minded members of the gaming community in real life. During the bumper four-day festival, gamers will be able to test-drive the latest releases, take part in BYOC (also known as Bring Your Own Computer), the UK’s biggest LAN party where over 2,500 attendees can play against each other live, and even meet and greet their favourite YouTubers.
