Pallet-Track golf day tees up £8,000 for Marie Curie.
Thirteen may be an unlucky number for some, but that certainly wasn’t the case at an annual fundraising golf day held by a Wolverhampton logistics firm, which raised a fantastic £8,000 for Marie Curie.
The 13th annual Pallet-Track golf day was held at Morley Hayes Golf Club in Derbyshire, with 64 players across 16 teams competing for the overall prize, before enjoying a celebration dinner, prize-giving event, raffle and auction.
The teams were invited from Pallet-Track’s headquarters, the pallet network’s members and its partner organisations.
Taking the overall honours in 2018 were The Dream Team, from Pontypridd-based Interhaul and their golfers Mark Waite, Dean Sargent, Stan Devonish and Nathan Wigg.
The runners-up prize went to Mockney Cockney, the team from Wimbledon-based ELB Partners and their golfers Peter Eason, Russell Newman, John Allen and Rod Jenkin.
Elsewhere, the putting competition was won by Andrew Williams, with Allan Robotham taking the honours for nearest the pin and James Ward winning longest drive.
