Sutton Coldfield Town Hall’s got Britain’s Got Talent.

Britain’s Got Talent winner George Sampson will lead the cast as Prince George in Rapunzel at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall.

Inviting audiences to an action-packed version of one of our best-loved traditional stories, it is the eve of Rapunzel’s birthday and Horabella seeks to capture the young girl that will provide the necessary magic to guarantee the evil witch eternal youth. It’s going to be one hair-raising adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat! Join Queen Passionella, Chester The Jester, fabulous Fairy Kind Heart and our hero Prince George and help save Rapunzel from her fate…

George Sampson found fame on Britain’s Got Talent when, aged just fourteen, he danced his way into the hearts of the nation. More recently he has appeared on television and in film. Last year George embarked upon his first UK tour in the critically acclaimed Our House: The Musical.

Joining George is songbird Charlotte Dacia as Rapunzel, X Factor’s Sohelia Cliford as Fairy Kind Heart, Gemma Gibbions as Horabella, Jamie Jones as Queen Passionella and Garry Morrison as Chester the Jester.

Producer Joe Purdy said, “We are delighted to welcome George to an already hugely talented cast for a show that promises to be a wonderful summer treat for all the family. We’ve taken traditional pantomime and given it a summer twist.”

George Sampson, who won the television contest with his Singin’ in the Rain street dance routine said, “This is my eighth pantomime and this is the first time I am playing the prince. I never usually get to play royalty, I’m usually Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk or Aladdin.”

He added: “I loved panto as a kid, it’s nice that kids come and believe in the magic. I love travelling to different theatres and love the people. I think the audiences are going to enjoy it and they can expect a very good and funny show. Who knows you might even get to see me do a little bit of Singin’ in the rain!”

Performances take place at 11:00am, 2:30pm & 6:30pm on Saturday 14th July. For more information and tickets visit www.townhallsuttoncoldfield.co.uk or call 0121 296 9543.
