Reward offered to help trace murder suspect

Charity offers up to £5,000 for information on whereabouts of Ronan Blake.

The charity Crimestoppers is today offering a reward of up to £5,000 for information on the whereabouts of Ronan Blake, who is wanted in connection with the murder of Anthony Nicholls.

Blake, 18, is believed to be in Sheldon, Birmingham, and is wanted for questioning in relation to a house fire on Birtchtrees Drive, Tile Cross, that killed 56-year-old Anthony Nicholls on November 7th last year.

Anthony, a father of one, suffered severe burns and smoke inhalation after a large firework was lit and pushed through his front door, causing the house to go up in flames within minutes. He was placed in an induced coma after being rescued, but never regained consciousness. His partner was left with multiple leg fractures after being forced to jump to safety from an upstairs window of the semi-detached property.

The Crimestoppers charity is now offering the reward of up to £5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of Ronan Blake.

Pauline Hadley, West Midlands Regional Manager for Crimestoppers, said: “It is heart-breaking to think about what Anthony and his partner went through once that house caught fire. This was such a thoughtless, heartless act carried out, and Anthony’s family deserve some answers as to why he was taken away from them.

“This is why I am asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ronan Blake, to contact our charity anonymously. We’ll never ask for any of your details, and he’ll never know you spoke to us. So please, tell us what you know, not who you are.”

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Ronan Blake, please contact Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through the non-traceable Anonymous Online Form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
