Cracking events at Artrix this Easter

Family fun for the holidays.

Families can take their pick from an exciting range of treats at Artrix over the Easter holidays.

Events begin with cinema screenings of the new Aardman Animation film, Early Man at 11am on 30th & 31st March and 4th & 5th April. This prehistoric tale features the voices of Tom Hiddleston, Maisie Williams and Eddie Redmayne. Early Man is rated PG and tickets are priced at just £5 each.

This Easter Monday, 2nd April, Artrix welcomes Easter Bunny’s Eggs Factor to the Main Stage at 2pm.

Young audiences are invited to join the fun, songs and laughter down at the Chocolate Factory. This fun, family show brought to you by the team behind Marty MacDonald’s Farm and Santa’s Christmas Wish includes a meet and greet with the Easter Bunny afterwards along with a special Easter treat for each child. Easter Bunny’s Eggs Factor is recommended for audiences aged 2-7 years old and tickets cost £10 each.

On Sunday 8th April at 2pm one of the world’s best loved nursery rhymes, There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly, is brought to life on stage just in time to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Pam Adams’ best-selling book.

This magical show has been written especially for grown ups to enjoy with their children and relive the delights of this most charming of tales complete with a feast of sing along songs, colourful animal characters and heart warming family fun.

Tickets for There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly are £10 per child and £12 per adult, with family tickets available at £40.

The charming theatre production, You’ve Got Dragons arrives at Artrix on Wednesday 11th April for two performances at 12.30pm and 3pm.

You’ve Got Dragons is a delightful tale of one child’s journey to come to terms with bad dreams and a swirly tummy – a bad case of ‘the dragons’. With live, original music, this highly visual, sensitive production is a humorous and touching exploration of the dragons we all face.

An intergenerational show, featuring creative captioning, interwoven BSL and audio description, You’ve Got Dragons is a treat for the whole family and tickets cost just £6 per child and £7 per adult.

The ever popular Vienna Festival Ballet returns to Artrix this Easter with one of the best known love stories, Swan Lake. Lavish costumes, stunning scenery, international stars, and the glorious music from Tchaikovsky make this a show not to be missed.

Swan Lake will be performed at Artrix on Sunday 15th April at 2pm and 5pm. Tickets cost £14.50 per child and £19.50 per adult, with concessions and family tickets also available.

Families with older children studying English or Drama may be interested to see the Royal Opera House LIVE screening of Macbeth on Wednesday 4th April (Tickets £10 for under 16s) and The John Godber Theatre Company’s hilarious and heartfelt new play, The Scary Bikers, on Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th April (Tickets start from £16 per person).

The cafe at Artrix provides visitors with a great choice of refreshments, including children’s picnic boxes and very young visitors to Artrix can also enjoy the free soft play area in the foyer.
