Birmingham’s Lip Sync War arrives

Broad Street bars join forces to host national competition.

Late night party bar Popworld, and Aussie favourite Walkabout, are coming together to give the people of Birmingham the chance to put on a performance and battle it out to become the nation’s top lip sync superstar.

Following the success of Popworld’s first nationwide competition last year, the fun-filled and larger than life brand has decided to ramp up the volume and turn the war on its head with the help of its Aussie cousin, Walkabout!

All those wanting to put on a show for their mates have to do to be in with the chance of not only winning all-important bragging rights but the whopping £2,500 cash prize is head to the venues’ websites and complete a simple application form, taking them from page to stage in one of the Broad Street venues in no time. But be quick! The deadline for entries is the 29th January 2018.

When it comes to the performance, the crowd controls who makes it from the regional heats to the semi-finals. So, performers need to leave their inhibitions by the door – impressing the punters is all that matters! An all-singing, all-dancing grand final will then take place in March at Popworld Birmingham, where performers will have a big production to convince a panel of all-star judges to choose them as the champion.

Alan Armstrong, Head of Marketing for Popworld said: “Last year’s Lip Sync War was so popular that we just had to bring it back bigger and even better for 2018. With more cash up for grabs, and a bigger pool of sites to compete with – our loyal fans can look forward to another round of fun-filled evenings at Popworld seeing their friends lip sync their hearts out. It will certainly be a night to remember, and we can’t wait to see the contestants in action.”

Vince Williams, Head of Marketing for Walkabout, added: “After hearing about how great Popworld’s Lip Sync War is was last year, we couldn’t be more excited to be on board this year and extend the invite for entries to Walkabout customers. We know that all Aussies have a larrikin sense of humour, so this competition will give them the chance to win and earn the bragging rights from their mates too!”
