Two weeks until Birmingham Weekender

City’s biggest arts festival ready to take place.

Birmingham Weekender 2017 takes place in two weeks time bringing over 160 scheduled performances, 600+ artists and 26 new commissions all demonstrating the cultural ethos and spirit in the city as we celebrate that Birmingham is the candidate city for a potential UK Commonwealth Games 2022.

The three day festival features performances and events from the city’s major arts organisations, independent artists and especially invited international artists. The programme covers dance, music, theatre, exhibitions and visual arts and talks.

Now is the time to get planning your Weekender experience. To navigate the Festival Birmingham Weekender have collaborated with Mini Screen Pictures to create Culture Cake a new App, available to download now, which for Weekender means you can find out what’s on, where and when as well as interactive information about the performance, artists and venue along with the option of finding out what’s on next near to your location.

In addition the Birmingham Weekender 2017 brochure can be picked up from all the major arts venues in the city including mac Birmingham, Birmingham Hippodrome, Birmingham REP, the Ikon, Town Hall Symphony Hall and Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery.

Festival Directors, Graham Callister (Birmingham Hippodrome) and Piali Ray (Sampad) said: “This is it, we’ve two weeks to go and it’s time for people to start planning what they will see over what promises to be a cultural extravaganza for the city over three days!
