Paying tribute at Artrix

There’s a plethora of almost-top names coming to Bromsgrove’s arts centre.

There are musical treats aplenty this July and August with a range of top quality musical acts gracing the stage at Artrix, beginning with Diamond on 20th July. Thought of as the UK’s best tribute to Neil Diamond, Jamie Knight and The Manuka Band perform Neil Diamond’s greatest songs live.

The entertainment continues as audiences will be transported back to the 1970s with Desperado – the History of the Eagles, an accurate and authentic recreation of Eagles music on 21st July and Abba Reunion, starring the original ‘Frida’ from the London West End cast on 22 nd July.

Rounding things off for July will be Roxy Magic, the UK’s best and longest running tribute to Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry on 29th July.

Looking ahead to August, The Marley Experience, an eight piece Midlands based band, will be bringing the unforgettable sounds and vibes of Bob Marley to audiences on 11th August, followed by Nicola T as Beyonce on 12 August. A great night out for ‘all the single ladies’ Nicola has been wowing audiences since 2009 with her live show, featuring hits from Queen B and Destiny’s Child.

Other gigs throughout August include The Lock In Remixed Featuring the Demon Barbers on 13th August. This show is an exciting celebration of dance culture, where folk and hip hop unite to stunning effect. The Lock In is a live music and dance extravaganza and the house band, The Demon Barbers, take English folk music on a new journey with hip hop, house, funk, disco and even says hello to drum & bass and ska along the way.

If classic rock‘n’roll music is what you like then you’ll love David Hamilton’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Back the Years when it comes to Artrix on 19th August. Starring DJ and broadcasting legend ‘Diddy’ David Hamilton, this show features a fantastic live band and David will tell the stories behind the songs that we all know and love, while the musicians and singers storm through some of the greatest songs of the era.
