Rising Star award for Birmingham surveyor

Future female role models recognised.

Hannah Jones, an Associate in Cushman & Wakefield’s Global Occupier Services team based in Birmingham has been named as a ‘Rising Star’ by professional women’s networking group WeAreTheCity.

The prestigious awards, now in its third year, aim to showcase the volume of female talent that exists across various industries and to create role models for the future. The awards were entered by 1,250 individuals and were judged by a panel of 33 independent judges. Over 35,000 public votes were received for the 200 shortlisted nominees.

Hannah joined the Cushman & Wakefield (then DTZ) Graduate Programme in 2007 and received her APC in 2009, quickly rising through the ranks to Associate. The majority of her ten years in the industry have been spent advising high profile occupiers, as part of Cushman & Wakefield’s Global Occupier Service Team. More recently, she has been the Account Manager responsible for coordinating occupier services to Royal Mail across their extensive national portfolio.

In addition to her day job, Hannah is a heavily involved in the Cushman & Wakefield Graduate Programme and Apprentice scheme, helping to mentor and advise those looking to progress in the property industry. She is also a passionate charity fundraiser and has raised over £10,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust, climbing the Himalayas and Mount Kilimanjaro in last three years. She is also a Land Aid charity ambassador.

Hannah Jones said: “I am incredibly honoured to be recognised by WeAreTheCity and would like to thank colleagues in the GOS team and the Inspire Gender Group for putting me forward for the award. I am keen to support young people considering a career in property, particularly those from less well represented gender and economic/social background groups and would like to leverage the award to combat blockers to accessing the industry.”

Hannah was put forward for the award by the Cushman & Wakefield Inspire Gender Group and GOS team as part of the push to recognise female talent within the organisation.
