New monthly comedy night launched

Top acts lined up for city centre theatre venue.

Bringing the best of UK and international comedy to Birmingham’s Crescent Theatre, the brand new monthly comedy night, Snap Comedy will have you chomping at the bit for more With an array of stand up from some of the hottest acts on the circuit, Snap Comedy is committed to celebrating local acts and international performers at all levels.

Put together by Birmingham local Bernie O’Toole, Snap Comedy aims to showcase top quality performers with a variety of styles from straight stand up to musical comedy to even comedy mind reading. Years of working at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and now as co-founder of Paper Rose, an arts PR agency, has allowed O’Toole to develop an in-depth knowledge of the comedy industry and what makes people funny.

Resident compere Rik Carranza’s half Scottish and half Filipino background not only makes him a rare gem on the UK comedy circuit, but gives him a different perspective and a wealth of unique experiences. Now a Birmingham dweller himself, Carranza is a regular on the Midlands comedy scene and has performed across the UK and as far a field as Australia, The Philippines and Singapore.

Described by BurnFM as “irrefutably hilarious…a non-stop joy ride that steers you through many side-splitting anecdotes about being a father, a comedian and a Brummie,” Birmingham comic Andy White will be headlining Snap Comedy’s first of many shows.

The first show takes place at the Crescent on 21st September. Tickets are £12 (£10.50 students) from the theatre’s website.
