Family fun at Artrix this summer holiday

Bromsgrove’s arts centre has fun in the sun for all.

There’s plenty of fun for families at Artrix this summer. The theatrical treats begins with Little Howard’s Big Show for Kids on Saturday 15th July, featuring an interactive stand up show, live animation, lots of jokes and songs.

It continues with Morgan & West’s Utterly Spiffing Spectacular Magic Show For Kids (and Childish Grown-ups!) on Sunday 23rd July. This show mixes brain boggling illusion and good old fashioned tom-foolery, in a show for all the family, where magic and silliness abound.

Captured live at the National Theatre, a recorded performance of JM Barrie’s much-loved tale, Peter Pan, screens at Artrix cinema on Saturday 5th August. A riot of magic, music and make-believe ensues in this delightful NT Live encore screening of a childhood classic.

Other family events throughout August include Artrix’s Baby Rave on Sunday 6th August. This event is best described as 90s rave culture meets CBeebies. August’s Baby Rave has already sold out, but there are still tickets available for the October Halloween Baby Rave.

If you fancy a trip to the seaside there’s POP! on Tuesday 8th August. Our hapless hero and his faithful teddy bear, deckchair and fantastic basket of tricks are all set for a lovely day at the seaside… until the day takes a turn. Prepare to be astounded by this totally word-free clown and magic show.

Half Moon presents Three on Tuesday 15th August. Three wishes, three witches, three sisters, three pigs, three bears, three musketeers, Three is a trio of well-known fairytales with spellbinding stories and live music.

And finally The First King of England… in a Dress is at Artrix on Friday 18th August. If you love Vikings and Saxons you’ll love this fun packed family story-telling show, including puppetry, music and plenty of joining in.

Throughout the summer holidays, Artrix continues to present regular family cinema experiences, including Fireman Sam: Alien Alert (2nd and 3rd August), Rock Dog (7th and 10 August) and the return of minion mayhem with Despicable Me 3 (16th and 17th August). Artrix provides a warm welcome and families can make the most of the facilities on offer, including a free soft play area for under threes, cafe, baby changing facilities and free and convenient parking.

Family tickets are available for selected performances and tickets for family films are £5 each (excluding NT Live). For further information on any of the events listed above or to book tickets visit or call Box Office on 01527 577330.
