Stratford restaurant celebrates re-launch

Extensive refurbishment adds to town’s attractions.

Following an extensive refurbishment of restaurant with rooms, The Townhouse at Stratford-upon-Avon, formerly The Church Street Townhouse, re-opens on Thursday 9th March. Townhouse owners, Brakspear, have enhanced and updated the interiors of this ancient Grade II listed building, including a stunning revamp of its bright, airy bar, adjoining dining spaces and 12 comfortable bedrooms. Doubles start from £105 a night on a B&B basis.

The Townhouse lies on a quiet, residential street in the centre of Stratford, and opposite Stratford’s latest visitor attraction, Shakespeare’s Schoolroom. Stratford’s main shopping streets, The Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre and the River Avon are all within a five minute walk.

To celebrate the re-launch, Townhouse executive head chef, Antony Ely, has devised a new menu of seasonal, rustic and flavourful British dishes made using the best locally sourced produce.

“The Townhouse is already popular and well-established, and the refurbishment will only enhance what’s already here to create an even more enjoyable place to drink, dine and stay,” says Townhouse manager, Neil Hanson.

The Townhouse is a 15-minute walk from Stratford station and the journey time from Birmingham Moor Street is forty minutes. By car, Stratford is 45 minutes drive from central Birmingham.
