Latest member of Oldbury distillery family honoured.
Natalie Wallis of Black Country-based Langley Distillery has been created a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Distillers. She is pictured beside a bust of her great, great, great grandfather William Henry Palmer, who founded the family company.
Natalie is the sixth generation of her family to work in the business. She is the first female member of the family to become a Distillers liveryman. The family moved from gold beating to alcohol production in 1902.
Langley Distillery, based in Oldbury, distils over 300 stock gin recipes as well creating bespoke recipes for over 80% of the UK’s artisanal brands of Gins. The distillery is home to what the family believes is the oldest working copper pot gin still in the UK, and the Still Room houses seven copper gin stills, with five in production and the eldest, McKay, dating back to the mid-1800s.
