London Midland signs with the Albion Foundation

Link-up with football club working in the community.


Rail company London Midland has joined forces with the Albion Foundation, a registered charity working in partnership with West Bromwich Albion Football Club.

The Albion Foundation provides sporting and educational opportunities to the most disadvantaged members of the local community. Using the power of football, the Albion Foundation makes a measurable, positive difference, raising aspirations, growing and fulfilling potential in local people of all ages, gender, ethnicity and socio-economic backgrounds.

The Albion Foundation focuses on three key areas:

Education & Engagement
Sport Development
Disability Sport

London Midland’s Commercial Director Richard Brooks said, “When we were approached by the Albion foundation it was their guiding principles that sparked our interest; The Foundation’s purpose is to make a difference and raise aspirations, connect to and grow the local community.”

he added “This is further evidence of London Midland’s commitment to getting closer to the communities we serve. With the Foundation’s aim to “Inspire to Achieve” we knew we were in good company to focus on a programme that supports the extraordinary community work being delivered by an exceptionally dedicated team.

“When the Albion Foundation approached us we could see a natural fit with our existing community programmes in sport and the arts across our network. Our colleagues have already got behind our youth sports programme, Your Sporting Chance, which is now helping forty teams and organisations. The Albion Foundation will give more colleagues more opportunities to support more good causes in the UK and across the world.”

The new partnership includes headline sponsorship of the Albion Foundation Day, which takes place on Saturday 8 April, when West Bromwich Albion play Southampton. London Midland will also be supporting the Foundation Colour Run to be held on Saturday 22n d July.
