Happy Hour again

New play set to end British tour in Birmingham.

Following a successful opening run in Autumn 2016, the brand-new show from Liverpool based Physical Theatre company Tmesis Theatre continues on the road and heads to The Old Rep Theatre this week.

Happy Hour is the latest offering from Tmesis Theatre which combines its trademark physicality with humour, music, and text from long-term collaborator Chris Fittock, to create a poignant, fast paced, comedy exploring our 21st Century obsession with happiness and success. The new show follows a successful national tour for Tmesis in 2015 of That’s Amore, which won critical acclaim from The Guardian.

Happy Hour will run for one night only at the Old Rep Theatre on Wednesday 1st March, ending its national tour.

The workers on Level Three are racing against the clock to reach their quota of Smiley Faces, but are they really happy enough? Can we learn to be happy? And can our emotions be bought and sold? The ‘happiness industry’ would have us think so…

Happy Hour is funny, highly engaging with a mix of characters everyone can relate to, performed by highly skilled performers and featuring a great selection of music as well as some beautiful original scores from composer Meike Holzmann.
