Heart beat

Winter tales at Olton’s cosiest café.

The Happy Heart, a cosy café next to Olton station, is hosting an evening of sparkling story readings and delicious comfort food on Monday 21st November. Winter Tales kicks off at 7pm, and great entertainment is guaranteed from local writers, actors, poets and playwrights. Local lad David Muir is joined by his fellow New Street Authors David Wake and AA Abbott, a sprinkling of humour from Helen Combe and Cornelia Harrow of the Solihull Writers Club, and many more local talents. There will also be a chance to solve those Christmas gift anxieties, with plenty of signed books on sale.

Free tickets can be booked via Eventbrite – or phone the Happy Heart (0121 706 8674) on the day to let them know you’re on your way.

The Happy Heart Café was founded by Nicolette Lawson as a community hub in the heart of Olton. Nicolette hosts regular events like Cyber Monday and Knit & Natter, but also opens the café for music evenings and even a Psychic Night. “I love supporting creativity in Olton with events like Winter Tales,” Nicolette says. “I serve light meals and cakes that are tasty and heart-friendly as well, proving healthy food can still tickle your tastebuds.”
