Free Christmas parking at Jewellery Quarter

Boost for seasonal spenders.

The Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District has given Christmas shoppers a reason to rejoice this festive period, by funding the multi-story car park on Vyse Street to open with free parking on Sundays in the run up to Christmas.

Opening between 11am-4pm on 27th November and 4th, 11th and 18th December, Birmingham drivers will be thrilled to know that they have another parking option over the Christmas period. It’s a great opportunity for people who aren’t familiar with the Jewellery Quarter to get the chance to explore some of the shops and attractions in the area. As well as this, the Jewellery Quarter is just a short walk or £1 tram ride away from the city centre, giving shoppers the flexibility to venture further afield.

Luke Crane, manager of the Jewellery Quarter BID comments, “We’re delighted to be able to offer free parking in the Jewellery Quarter, especially at a time when finding a place to park in the city can be the most stressful part of a Christmas shopping experience. Parking in the city can get expensive, with prices creeping up to as much as £15 for a five-hour stay – that kind of money could easily be put toward stocking fillers for friends and family, a treat for yourself or even a great meal out.”

“We’re always keen to invite people to the experience the wonders of the Jewellery Quarter, as there’s so much on offer here which people might not necessarily realise is available. We hope people use the opportunity to experience the JQ, from the many bars and restaurants in the area, to the attractions, workshops and of course, plenty of places to get your Christmas shopping from, too.”
