West Midlands residents can vote to support their Local Heroes.
Residents from cities across the West Midlands are being called upon to help one of the five shortlisted community centres, providing everything from Asian dressmaking classes to support for patients facing life-limiting illnesses; to secure a free DIY makeover, courtesy of Local Heroes.
Five community centres from Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Sutton Coldfield, Coventry and Redditch have been shortlisted to take part in an online competition that offers the chance for much-needed DIY tasks to be completed, free of charge, by local tradesmen.
The winning centre will be selected based on how many votes they receive in an online poll. Residents from across the country can vote for one of the centres, and help them to secure the makeover by visiting: www.myLocalHeroes.com/vote.
Voting is open until 17th October, with the winning community organisation receiving its free makeover on 25th October.
The competition marks the launch of Local Heroes, an online service where you can find a British Gas-accredited local tradesman to carry out plumbing, electrics, drains and heating jobs in the home. This new, local service provides an instant online booking method, with clear and fair pricing, no call-out charge and a 12-month guarantee.
