Birmingham’s first chocolate festival comes to Brindleyplace

Chocoholics dream at city centre event.

Things got spicy last month for the annual Birmingham Chilli Festival at Brindleyplace and this month, life is about to get a whole lot sweeter, with the award-winning development hosting the city’s first chocolate festival on Saturday 22nd October.

Taking place in Central Square between 11am and 6pm, Chocival, Birmingham’s first chocolate festival in association with established market operator, Sketts, will feature music, entertainment and food stalls selling a range of indulgent and unusual chocolate treats.

Alex Perrins, part of the Destination Marketing team at Brindleyplace, said: “We like to keep things fresh at Brindleyplace and ensure we offer something up everyone’s street throughout the year. As almost everyone loves chocolate, we thought we’d celebrate Birmingham’s choccie heritage with the first chocolate festival at Brindleyplace.

“On the day, Central Square will be choc-a-block with stalls, offering visitors the chance to taste a tempting selection of chocolate goods, including cookies, cakes, gooey brownies and local handmade chocolates. There’s even chocolate inspired bottled and cask beers or cocoa flavoured vodka and gin. As much as we’d like to, we can’t turn the canals around the estate into a Willy Wonka style chocolate river, although there will be a chocolate fountain stall!

“Our annual events grow year on year, and we’re excited to add this unique offering to our autumn events and tempt the city’s sweet tooth.”

Free to attend and suitable for the whole family, the Brindleyplace Chocival is sure to hit the sweet spot for the city’s chocoholics. For more information about the festival visit www.brindleyplace.com
