Buon Appetito as Bardolino ready for opening

Celebrity chef’s latest enterprise to star at the Cube.

Marco Pierre White’s newest Birmingham venture is set to open on Tuesday 12th July, as the finishing touches are made to the brand new Bardolino Pizzeria, Bellini and Espresso Bar.

Taking its name from the town of Marco’s mother’s birth, the new ‘ultra-casual’ dining concept will serve up an all-day express menu of authentic Italian food, coffees and Bellinis from its canalside location within The Cube.

Designed to be an everyday, affordable restaurant for the whole family, diners can enjoy everything from the classic Margherita and Americano pizzas, to the Zingara, which features Italian sausage, mushrooms and mozzarella, topped with truffle oil.

From the pizza oven to Italy’s other classic plate, pasta, diners can also choose from homemade dishes including canneloni with spinach and ricotta, lasagne and macaroni and cheese. Contorni, or side dishes, provide the perfect accompaniment for a true taste of authentic Italian cuisine, whilst a range of salads provide a lighter dining option.

A visit to Bardolino is not just for lunch and dinner, thanks to a breakfast and brunch menu served daily from 8am. Freshly baked croissants, bread and bagels sit alongside a range of ‘on toast’ options, including crisp pancetta, scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and crushed avocado.

For a twist on the full English, diners with more of an appetite can also choose from Bardolino’s Breakfast or Marco’s Breakfast, whilst a choice of fruits, oats and yoghurts are perfect for a quicker breakfast break. With four signature juices on the menu too, breakfast and brunch is available at Bardolino until 11.30am, or 3pm on Sundays.

Catering for up to 83 diners in total, Bardolino also features its signature Marco family table, allowing larger families and groups to sit together in true Italian style. Designed by Luci Roper, the rustic Italian theming brings a unique character to the Birmingham canalside restaurant.

Bardolino will be operated under licence from the notorious chef’s Black and White Hospitality business, which plans to roll out the concept in further locations during the next two years.

Speaking of the new concept, Marco Pierre White said: “Bardolino is pizza, it’s coffee, it’s a bar. I wanted to give you what you expect from an Italian: casual, recognisable dishes and friendly service with a smile – that’s exactly what you get at Bardolino.”

Jon Peek, general manager at Bardolino, as well as Marco’s Steakhouse Bar & Grill at the top of The Cube, said: “Bardolino is something completely different to Marco’s existing restaurants here in Birmingham, offering fantastic hearty Italian food in such a relaxed setting. It’s been fantastic to watch the concept of Bardolino develop in recent months, and the whole team is really looking forward to welcoming diners for breakfast, lunch and dinner from the 12th!”
