Cadbury World partners with Selly Manor

Joint offer for visitors to attractions.

Two of Bournville’s best-loved attractions will be working together to offer an entertaining and educational day out for visitors to the area.

During term-time, Cadbury World will be offering all Selly Manor ticket holders 30% off entry into its chocolate-themed attraction, giving visitors to Bournville Village a true taste of what’s on offer in this historical area.

Both sites are steeped in the area’s heritage, with ties between Selly Manor and Cadbury stretching back to the start of the 20th century when the building was saved and lovingly restored by George Cadbury in 1916.

To start the day, visitors can walk around Selly Manor’s exquisite grounds and historic buildings dating back to the 1400s and learn more about George Cadbury’s involvement in giving Selly Manor its new lease of life. The exploration of local heritage continues into the afternoon at Cadbury World, as visitors can see how the Bournville Village came to be built and discover the vision behind the iconic Cadbury brand.

Visitors will also be able to make the most of Cadbury World’s chocolatey zones, including the Chocolate Making zone, the Bournville Experience and Bull Street – a full scale replica of the original street where John Cadbury opened his shop in 1824.

For those in need of refreshment and relaxation, the Cadbury Café will be offering Selly Manor visitors a 10%* discount off delicious lunches, cakes and hot drinks. And to top it all off, visitors can finish the day in the World’s Biggest Cadbury Shop with treats and special offers that you won’t find anywhere else.

Diane Mitchell, marketing manager at Cadbury World, said: “Bournville is rich in history that still plays such a big part in the village today. “With the Cadbury family having restored Selly Manor, it only seemed right to partner with our good neighbours to offer visitors this truly captivating day out.”

Gillian Ellis, heritage manager at Bournville Village Trust added: “This year, Selly Manor celebrates 100 years since it was saved from demolition and opened as a museum by George Cadbury in 1916. What better way to mark this milestone than partnering with Cadbury World and giving visitors the opportunity to discover the wonderful history of the area.”

This exclusive offer is only available for Selly Manor ticket holders. Selly Manor tickets must be presented at the time of entry to Cadbury World and tickets to Cadbury World must be booked in advance.
