Peaky Blinder’s Architect returns to Birmingham

The secrets behind the sets revealed at awards ceremony.

Grant Montgomery, Production Designer of the award-winning TV drama Peaky Blinders, is returning to Birmingham on 28th April for the prestigious Royal Institute of British Architects Awards.

As the man behind the look and style of Peaky Blinders, Grant’s work involves set design as well as selecting the locations and layouts that give Peaky Blinders its distinctive feel and image, and have made it one of the nation’s most talked about shows. Grant will be talking about his work at the Awards on the 28th of April and the role that Birmingham’s heritage and architecture play in bringing the story to the small screen.

Speaking today, Grant said “Peaky Blinder’s is my biggest career highlight and I’m really honoured to be speaking about the journey of the production and share my passion for product design at the RIBA awards.”

For 50 years the RIBA awards and prizes have championed and celebrated the best architecture in the UK and around the world, no matter the form; size or budget. Successful projects reflect changes and innovations in architecture, but at their core display a commitment to designing and developing buildings and spaces for the improvement and enhancement of people’s lives.

Gursharan Kaur from RIBA said, “We are delighted Grant will be joining us to celebrate the best examples of new British Architecture in the region, and revealing the tricks behind what the audiences see on screen.”

The awards event is open for all to attend and tickets are available at www.ribawardswm.eventbrite.co.uk
